An exclusive look at a new thirty-second trailer hit Twitter and Facebook today, followed up by multiple repostings from some of the cast and other local PBS stations around the United States. I haven’t found it posted yet on PBS or Masterpiece, but I’m sure it will be up very soon. Follow the link at Entertainment Weekly, if you haven’t seen it yet, and enjoy! It bears repeating one statement in the article, “Fan support propelled the series to earn a second and third season, which was announced in May 2021, though James chose not to return.“
The short clip has a few lines from our characters as follows:
(Tom Parker) All who set foot in Sanditon fall in love on the spot.
(Col. Lennox) Was that your experience, Miss Heywood?
(Charlotte) I believe independence is something to be encouraged.
(Lady Denham) Oh, don’t be absurd.
(Edward Denham) I will not let you destroy my reputation.
(Georgiana) I am besieged by fortune hunters.
(Alison Heywood) I have a plan for both of us to find husbands here in Sanditon.
(Charlotte) Love is not as simple as you seem to think.
(Alison) Why shouldn’t it be?

Fans guessed it right, spotting Jack Fox riding on a horse in the other trailer, he’s now Captain Edward Denham. He doesn’t look too pleased.
Colonel Lennox definitely appears as the formidable military man with an edge about him. Our favorites are back with Esther Babbington and scenes of Clara and Lady Denham. Our new Charles Lockhart is looking rather dapper, frankly. Then there is the small cornflower being handed over to Charlotte by Alexander Colbourne. Quite the delightful gesture!

All in all, I think these new scenes guarantee good things to come from the writers, actors, and directors of Sanditon Season 2 and 3. I have nothing bad to say about any of it, except praise, praise, praise that Sanditon is coming back!
